JFS often has programs that require special donor funding in order to proceed. These programs often need less than $5,000 but can make a very meaningful difference in our community. Examples of programs that can take place with donor support include:
  • Support groups for children with siblings with special needs.
  • Assisting a family dealing with a child’s serious mental illness
  • Supporting specialized training for clinicians to expand their skills, on any topic from infant development to geriatrics.
  • Feeding the hungry – there are many local Jewish families and elderly citizens who can temporarily benefit from our kosher food bank
  • Helping a disabled adult to afford specialty transportation.
  • Contributing to an emergency assistance fund for needy men
  • Enabling families with an autistic child to access respite care
  • Funding programming for former refugees who still need help adjusting to life in the United States.
  • Helping frail elderly to benefit from a special fund that helps pay for prescriptions they cannot afford.
  • DESIGN-a-MITZVAH: Contact us to talk about opportunities for giving that interest you.
