JFS CARE AT HOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We seek caregivers who are experienced working with older adults and others who need care. Many are certified nursing assistants or home health aides. We look for caregivers who understand the needs of older adults, are warm and responsive to their clients, and are proud of the work they do. Caregivers are our partners in care.

Our employees undergo thorough and complete multi-state criminal background checks. They are bonded and insured. Care at Home handles payroll, taxes and social security deductions.

Q: Do you provide training and supervision for your caregivers?

CAH provides a thorough orientation covering our policies and procedures, including expectations on the job. We stress communication as a key component in working with our caregivers. We do this through routine calls and home visits. Ongoing contact between our partners in care enables us to identify positives in caregiving as well as any issues impacting client care.

Q: What happens if we have an emergency?

For medical emergencies, call 9-1-1 or your physician.  CAH IS AVAILABLE 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK. For non-medical emergencies occurring after regular business hours, clients and caregivers can contact the on-call CAH staff member by calling our after hours contact number included in your CAH care package.

Q: Does insurance cover your services?

Long Term Health Care Insurance may pay for services, depending on the policy and the clients’ needs. Other insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid, typically do not pay for CAH services since we offer non-medical home care services.
