Support JFS in Our 100th
Year
One Hundred Years! Since 1912, Jewish Family Services
has served adults and children in our community without
regard to age, religion, economic circumstances or race.
We’ve nourished the hungry, aided the jobless, provided
mental health counseling, and supported programs for
older adults and persons with disabilities. We invite
you to join us in honoring our past and celebrating our
future when we commemorate this remarkable milestone
Sunday, June 10, 2012.

Our middle name is Family. In celebration of our 100th
anniversary, we are hosting a
Sparkling Evening at Beth El
Temple that honors four families who have been extremely
important to JFS’s history and our ability to provide
vital services that change people’s lives every day.
Help us salute
Anja and Gene
Rosenberg,
Judy and David Rosenthal,
Marilyn and Harold
Rothstein, and
Mary and Gideon Rutenberg. |

In recognition of the
example set by each of these four families, JFS will
establish three Guiding Star Funds to continue their
leadership into our second century.
~ JFS Changing Children’s Lives Fund—to collaborate with
other area institutions to eliminate barriers that
impact children’s physical and mental health and
educational opportunities;
~ JFS First Responders Fund—to insure that those who
need aid receive it when they are hungry, when they are
without jobs, when the roof over their head is in
jeopardy, or when they are facing emotional or familial
crises;
~JFS Future Fund—to endow our next century so that JFS
programs can continue to effectively serve the Greater
Hartford community.
A Tribute Journal will be distributed to all Sparkling
Evening guests, highlighting this extraordinary
celebration. Your message to JFS and the honorees would
make this historic occasion even more special. The
downloadable instructions detail the information you’ll need
to send your message for the Tribute Journal before
April 25th. There will be only one 100th anniversary in
our lifetime, but, with your help, we can make a real
difference in thousands of lives for many more
generations.
