What's Jewish about JFS?

We’re a member agency of the Association of Jewish Family and Children’s Agencies connecting us xxxto a network of 145 JFSs throughout North America.

We have the only Kosher Food Pantry in the Greater Hartford area. Both our Jewish and non-Jewish xxxstaff are sensitive to Jewish ethnic and religious issues.

In the spirit of the mitzvah of bikur cholim (visiting the infirm), our Friendly Visitors Program reduces xxxsocial isolation through personal visits and assisting participants and their families.

We collaborate with other Jewish service providers to assess and meet community needs.

We coordinate Passover and other Jewish holiday assistance programs including holiday food items.

We offer social and supportive programs for Holocaust survivors including home care services where xxxneeded.

Our staff provides consulting services to the JCC Pre-School.

We offer family support services to families of children with autism.

In keeping with Jewish values and the spirit of tikkun olam (healing the world) we are committed to xxxproviding services to the entire community regardless of race, religion, or ethnicity.
